Dear Pastors and Church Leaders,
Can an unrighteous leader govern a nation righteously? How can we expect God’s blessing, protection and provision while the godly withdraw from serving as salt and light? If God ordained government, should Christians not help shape it?
Join us online Thursday, November 19, 2026, as we welcome Gary Meredith, author of Bibles and Ballots: 10 Biblical Reasons Christians Must Engage in Politics.
Gary points to research by George Barna estimating that 30–60 million churchgoing American Christians sit out elections. Many cite their faith as the reason, arguing that citizenship in heaven releases them from responsibility here on earth. Canadian churches must also confront this question: What happens to our nation when Christians abandon their public duties and leave governing to those who reject Biblical principles?
Gary’s message is clear: Christians are citizens of both heaven and earth, with responsibilities in this life. When believers retreat from public service, others fill the void—and the consequences reach into our schools, our families, our churches and our freedoms.
An evangelical writer and volunteer contributor to GotQuestions.org, Gary has answered more than 650 Bible questions. His book began with a Christian’s objection to involvement in “worldly politics.” That exchange led him to examine Scripture and address ten common arguments for staying out of political life. His conclusion: Not one Bible verse forbids political involvement by believers, and many encourage it.
This presentation will help pastors address these objections, equip their congregations to act on Biblical convictions, and understand political engagement as an opportunity to honour God and serve their neighbours.
Please join us and invite fellow pastors and church leaders to this timely discussion.
