My Kitchen Rules’ self-proclaimed “classy bogans” Alisha and Deanne aren’t ready to say goodbye to the cameras just yet.

The South Australian mums were eliminated from the competition on Monday night and have hinted at a future on television.

“We need a spin-off show after this,” Alisha told 7NEWS.com.au.

The best friends made no secret of their big personalities throughout the competition, refusing to tone themselves down despite clashing with fellow contestants and facing criticism along the way.

After Zoe and Zac’s instant restaurant, the mums were left at the bottom of the leaderboard, ending their hopes of making it through to Kitchen HQ.

But when it comes to what made them most proud, the pair said it had little to do with their cooking.

“Being ourselves and showing Australia who we are,” Deanne said.

“Being proud to come onto the show, showing our kids what we can do, and I guess just doing it with your best friend.”

Alisha agreed, saying she was proud of the way they stood their ground when others judged their personalities.

Be the first to know:

“Just standing up for ourselves, when people are putting you down and judging you, and being able to carry on, push on,” she said.

“We just learnt to laugh it off,” Deanne said.

Unlike other teams who have faced accusations of playing the game, Alisha said the pair had always been “true and real”.

“I think that’s our biggest takeaway — we were exactly who we are,” she said.

“It’s a lot to go on national TV and be who we are, and possibly cop judgment from people and what they think of our personalities.

“But we held our ground because we love who we are.

“Anyone who doesn’t want to be around us, well that’s your loss.”

Mixed reaction from viewers

Deanne admitted the response from viewers had been a “mixed bag”, with public opinion seemingly shifting throughout their time on the show.

“I think at first people were like, ‘I love the bogan girls’, but when Alisha walked out it changed people’s opinions,” she said.

The explosive walk out happened during Angus and Simon’s first instant restaurant, when their green apple slaw sparked a disagreement over whether the dish needed more “acid or vinegar”.

When Victorian contestant Tiffany used the term “acid”, Alisha questioned the terminology.

But when judge Colin Fassnidge later used the same word in his critique, Alisha felt she had been singled out.

“We’ve been made to seem like we’re pretty much idiots. People think we just have no idea what we’re talking about,” Alisha said.

The situation eventually boiled over, with Alisha storming out of the instant restaurant.

“I’ve been made to look like an absolute idiot,” she said. “I’m just done with it. I’m absolutely done.”

Deanne followed her outside, with the pair initially refusing to return to the table before Fassnidge confronted them.

Alisha accused the judge of taking Tiffany’s side, but Fassnidge told 7NEWS.com.au he had simply been trying to make a point.

“She was talking about something she knows nothing about and giving her two cents,” he said.

“And I was trying to go, you know what? What the guys actually said was true. And if maybe you stop talking for long enough, you might learn, which she eventually does.”

Fassnidge also warned their fiery approach could eventually come back to bite them.

Despite being eliminated Alisha and Deanne believe they managed to win Australia back and while their MKR journey may be over, the pair haven’t ruled out another television adventure.

“I think we got more love in the end,” Alisha said. “We need a spin-off show after this.”

The remaining teams will head to Kitchen HQ on Tuesday night, where they’ll be cooking against the clock but some contestants will crumble under the pressure.

My Kitchen Rules returns on Tuesday at 7.30pm at Seven and 7plus.
