A man has been left fighting for life after a pool jump went horribly wrong in Brisbane’s east.

Emergency services were called to a home in Hawthorne about 11.22pm on Saturday after reports a man had been seriously injured in a fall.

The man, aged in his 20s, had reportedly attempted to jump into a pool from a five-metre height when he was injured.

Paramedics treated him for a significant and potentially life-threatening leg injury before he was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for ongoing treatment.
