Two men have been charged after police allegedly uncovered an extraordinary arsenal of weapons inside a Western Sydney home.

Officers executed a search warrant at a unit complex on Rodley Ave in Penrith about 7pm on Friday following an investigation into reports prohibited firearms had been found at the home.

Inside the unit, police allegedly seized two rifles and ammunition, a shortened rifle, two revolvers, two crossbows and bolts, nunchucks, mace, a high-powered laser device, knuckle-dusters, a throwing knife, a spear gun, ornamental battle axes and daggers, a combat knife, air pistols, air rifles, a number Gel Blasters, cash, and allegedly stolen property.

All of the items will undergo forensic examination.

Two men, aged 27 and 43, were arrested at the unit and taken to Penrith Police Station.

The 27-year-old was charged with 59 offences relating to firearms, prohibited weapons, drug supply and dealing with suspected stolen property.

The 43-year-old was charged with goods in custody suspected of being stolen and possessing housebreaking implements.

Both men were refused bail and are due to appear before Bail Division Court on Saturday.
