I have always heard good things about Danish skincare brand Beauté Pacifique, so discovering that Adore Beauty stocks the brand felt like the perfect excuse to finally put it to the test.

My combination skin had been behaving more like dry skin over winter, with that familiar tight, dull feeling that can appear when the temperature drops.

After using three Beauté Pacifique products consistently over the past month, my skin has been looking plumper, softer and noticeably more dewy.

Beauté Pacifique describes itself as a cosmeceutical skincare brand, but what exactly does cosmeceutical mean?

The term is commonly used to describe skincare sitting somewhere between traditional cosmetics and pharmaceutical-style skincare.

In Australia, however, ‘cosmeceutical’ is not a separate legal category. Products are regulated according to what they contain, what they are intended to do and the claims made about them.

That means a cosmetic product can improve the appearance or feel of skin, but it should not be marketed as treating or preventing a medical condition unless it meets the relevant therapeutic product requirements.

That distinction is worth knowing when shopping for ingredient-led skincare, particularly when brands use language around ageing, pigmentation or skin concerns.

For my routine, I kept things simple and focused on hydration, softness and the overall appearance of my skin.

Beauté Pacifique Crème Paradoxe Anti-Age Day Cream 50ml, $137.01

The Crème Paradoxe Anti-Age Day Cream is designed to moisturise the skin while helping improve the appearance of visible signs of ageing.

The formula contains two active ingredients that Beauté Pacifique says work together to support the skin and help protect it from environmental stressors.

For my combination skin, the texture has been particularly useful during winter. Rather than leaving my complexion feeling stripped after cleansing, it gives my skin a comfortable layer of moisture before I move on to sunscreen and makeup.

The biggest difference I’ve noticed is how my skin looks after applying it. My complexion appears fresher and more hydrated, with the kind of subtle sheen that makes foundation sit more smoothly.

The Instant Hydrating Mask is formulated with collagen and squalane, two ingredients associated with moisturising and conditioning the skin. Beauté Pacifique says the mask helps add moisture and leaves tired, rough-feeling skin feeling more comfortable.

I’ve been using it as a hydration-focused addition to my routine rather than something I need every day. It has been especially handy when my skin feels like it needs a little more attention.

The result is skin that feels softer and looks more hydrated after use, which is exactly what I want from a winter face mask.

Beauté Pacifique Submersive Serum Paradoxe, $113

The serum is probably my favourite of the three.

Beauté Pacifique Submersive Serum Paradoxe is designed for all skin types and contains procyanidin, resveratrol and squalane. These ingredients are used in the formula for their antioxidant and moisturising properties.

Procyanidin and resveratrol are antioxidants, while squalane is a skin-conditioning ingredient that helps support moisture and softness.

I’ve been following the brand’s suggested application, using two drops over my face after cleansing and one drop for my neck. It is a simple step, but it has made my routine feel more considered without adding unnecessary layers.

Over the month, my skin has felt comfortable and hydrated, while looking smoother and more luminous. It has also been a good match for my combination complexion because I’m not piling multiple heavy moisturisers on top of one another.

Is Beauté Pacifique worth adding to your routine?

For me, the appeal has been the simplicity. Rather than buying a cabinet full of products, I’ve been using a moisturiser, serum and hydrating mask that each serve a clear purpose.

The three products have also worked well together during winter, when my combination skin has needed more moisture than usual.

The results I’m seeing are cosmetic rather than miraculous: my skin looks more hydrated, feels softer and has a healthy-looking glow.
