A swimmer has died after being pulled unresponsive from the water at a popular beach in northern NSW.
The man, believed to be aged in his 50s, was found in the water off Cabarita Beach on the Tweed Coast about 12.30pm on Saturday.
Three members of the public pulled him from the water and desperately tried to revive him before emergency services arrived.

He was rushed to Tweed Valley Hospital but later died.
The man is yet to be formally identified.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
