According to the latest report by Reporters Without Borders, more than half of the world’s countries are now classified as having “difficult” or “very serious” conditions for journalism, and fewer than 1% of people live in countries where the press is truly free. 

What does it mean?

• Journalists are silenced through intimidation and censorship,
• Independent outlets are starved of funding, and
• Critical truths are buried under propaganda and corporate narratives.
