A female police student was sexually assaulted by another student at the NSW Police Academy at the weekend.

The victim was allegedly assaulted by a male recruit at the Goulburn academy on Sunday, April 12 police said.

It’s alleged the pair had been drinking with other recruits at a premise nearby town before they returned to their student accommodation, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The recruits were alone in a room when the alleged assault took place.

The female later reported the alleged incidents to her superiors.

Police said the male student has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.

“The alleged female victim ... is receiving support and welfare assistance from Academy staff as the investigation continues.”
