Australians will be able to fly direct to the Maldives with just a single reward point under a wild travel deal offered by Luxury Escapes.

The Australian-owned travel brand is dropping 250 economy seats on its direct Melbourne-to-Malé service for just one Societe Point as part of its “Points Plane to Paradise” promotion.

Societe is Luxury Escapes’ free loyalty program, launched in 2025, which allows members to earn and redeem points on travel.

The offer goes live at 7pm AEST on Thursday and runs for 48 hours, or until all available seats are snapped up.

On top of the single point, passengers will need to pay just $99 in taxes and surcharges for the one-way flight, departing Melbourne on November 3.

The A330 service will be operated by Maldivian Air.

Luxury Escapes CEO Adam Schwab said the deal came about because the final Melbourne-to-Malé flight of the year had plenty of empty seats.

“We have a flight to the Maldives that goes every week. We have what’s called a dead leg, so a single leg to the Maldives, which was pretty empty,” he told 7NEWS.

“So I thought, we only got one way. Why don’t we give our customers a great chance to get to the Maldives for a single point?”

Schwab said the Maldives had proven to be one of the most popular destinations for Luxury Escapes members in 2026, with some customers travelling there twice in the past six months.

“The Maldives is a bucket-list destination for a reason. It’s absolutely extraordinary and we love the idea that one Société Point can help get you on a plane to paradise,” he said. 

“Great loyalty programs should unlock experiences that feel genuinely special. For 250 Australians, that’s exactly what this flight will do and is at seriously great value.

“Other airline programs offer up to 11.5 cents per point, Luxury Escapes is offering around $700 for one point, it’s holiday math but make it real”.

Return travel and accommodation can be added on with the booking.

The deal comes as Luxury Escapes prepares to make its Melbourne-to-Malé service a year-round route from January 12 next year, following the launch of its seasonal direct flights in May.

The service will operate weekly from Melbourne.
