Australian fashion retailer Cue Clothing Co, which owns Cue and Veronika Maine, has collapsed into voluntary administration.

ASIC records show Shaun McKinnon and Duncan Clubb have been appointed as joint administrators on Tuesday.

The administrators are now tasked with determining the future of the long-running fashion business, which operates 51 stores across Australia and New Zealand.

The collapse comes after the company was put up for sale by UK investment firm Hilco Capital, just 16 months after it acquired the business.

The company’s latest accounts showed revenue rose to $103.2 million in 2025, but it still recorded a $5.1 million loss.

The first meeting of creditors will be held virtually on September 24, according to the ASIC notice.

Creditors will consider whether to appoint a committee of inspection and can vote to remove and replace the administrators.

Cue was founded in Sydney in 1968 and remained family-owned for more than five decades before its sale to Hilco.
